Why should you buy used gym equipment? – Frequently asked questions

Gym equipment can be costly. Workout enthusiasts love working out their arms and legs, so they’d rather not buy a fitness machine that would cost them those precious limbs. Commercial gym machines, whether they are elliptical, treadmills, bikes or strength machines, retail for thousands of dollars brand new. By buying used gym equipment, customers can save 50%, if not more, off MSRP. Let’s look at some examples of the savings.

Precor AMT 100i Elliptical Crosstrainer

MSRP: $8600      Used: $2700       Discount: 68%

Life Fitness 95X Inspire Elliptical

Life Fitness 95R Inspire Recumbent Bike

By buying used, customers can save thousands off a single machine. The main advantage to buying used is clearly the amount of money being saved, but there may be some concerns that should be addressed.

If I buy used, won’t my machine break down quickly or be old and worn out?

This is a logical concern because most of these machines have been used extensively in the gym. But the top manufacturers such as Precor, Life Fitness, Star Trac and StairMaster are well aware of this and build their machines to be capable of running for 24 hours a day for an extended period of time. This durability comes at a price, hence the large price tags on most of these machines. Luckily, by buying used gym equipment, you can avoid the hefty price tag and reap the benefits of the quality build. In a household where the machine is only being used a couple of hours a day, an elliptical, treadmill or other machine can last for years and years.

What condition will my machine come in?

We can’t speak for other companies, but Primo Fitness will only sell their customers machines that are in working, fully functional condition. Most of our machines are sold as-is because of the durability of the machines, they are not likely to break down anytime soon. There is also the option of cleaning and servicing or Remanufacturing used gym equipment for an additional cost.

Is there warranty for my fitness machines?

Warranty varies from product to product. Take a look at our warranty policy.

Will I be able to test out the gym equipment before buying it?

Yes! Here at Primo Fitness, we allow you to test any machine that you desire. We want our customers to leave satisfied and by allowing them to test the machines, it ensures that there will be no unwelcomed surprises.
